Ghost Train

I had seen a trailer for Ghost Train on one of my Newtype preview DVDs, and it looked like a nonstop frightfest. That seemed awesome, because the last few horror movies I'd seen turned out to a) not be scary, and b) not even really horror movies. "Great," I thought, "I can invite friends over and we can turn off the lights and watch a scary movie."

Trailer: OMG Watch out for this crazy ass train! There are like ghosts and stuff all over it and people be dying and holy crap your whole body is jumping! Watch this movie and have so much fun oh God!

Movie: I'm a teenage girl. My Mom is sick. I hope she gets better. Here's a creepy train. I want to hang out with my friends. The End.

First of all, and this is a SPOILER, the train wasn't even haunted. It was some stupid woman ghost who happened to frequently be near the train. She was a ghost because, and I'm trying my best here, some other ghost killed her and she miscarried, and all this happened near some cave which for also unexplained reasons happened to be haunted. So now we have a ghost killing other ghosts near a cave of ghosts by the train tracks. That's a lot going on. Too bad all we get to see is a preppy teenager dealing with her younger sibling and her emo schoolmate who seems to have been painted orange. Really, there's not a lot of time spent with the ghosts, and even during the parts with the ghosts, it wasn't scary, and I scare easily.

Bottom Line: So, I had my friends over to watch this, and now I have no friends. Thanks a lot Ghost Train.
